Finding Baby’s First Sippy Cup: Munchkin Click Lock Trainer Cup vs. Nuk Learner Sippy Cup

If you’re a first-time mom, sippy cups aren’t in the realm of your awareness until you have to buy one and then you’re overwhelmed by the variety of options and opinions. So, here’s another one…

Kidding… but kind of not. These are some of the top two popular recommendations I received and I bought both because initially, my daughter wouldn’t take the Nuk Learner Sippy Cup. We tried around 6 months and she would never drink so we purchased the Munchkin Click Lock Trainer and she drank straight out of it right away? Babies, am I right?

I’m not the biggest fan of the Munchkin Click Lock for three main reasons.

  1. It’s very hard to clean. You need the strength of Thor to pull the rubber sippy part out of the top.
  2. Something is up with the flow, my daughter always chokes when she drinks out of this cup. It could be her or it could be the cup, either way, I got tired of her choking every time she took a drink.
  3. Floaties galore! Somehow, this cup would always be full of floaties by the end of the day.

Around 9 months we tried to see if she’d take the NUK Learner and she did! I like it so much better because unlike the Munchkin Click Lock Trainer, the NUK Learner Sippy Cup is super easy to clean, the flow is perfect and there is no backwash situation going on. I need to purchase the bigger oz NUK Learner now that she is done with bottles because the little version only holds a little over 5 oz.

Short and sweet post today but I know money adds up, especially if you’re trying to find new baby products that work for your little one. I hope this helps someone and let me know if you have any questions!

Are you on the NUK Learner train? Or are you loyal to another brand?
